Sweet 16 Months

My sweet little boy turned 16 months this past Sunday. I can't believe how fast he is growing up. He is looking less and less like a baby and more and more like a big boy every day. I'm so proud of the little person he is becoming. Here's what he's liking/learing right now.

Fave Toys:
hokey pokey elmo - thank you $4 consignment sale
giraffe from Noah's Ark
cars
balls
Thomas trains
puzzles
coloring book and crayons
elmo and cookie monster plastic toys (these things do NOT leave his hands...so funny)

Fave Books:
Raindrop Plop, Einstein Farm, Go Dog Go, the big Dog book, Wonderful Me,
big car, train, and animal picture books

Body parts he can point to:
ears, eyes, nose, teeth, feet, hand, and we are close to belly button

Animal sounds he can make:
dog (the favorite), snake, lion, owl, monkey, horse, cow, oh and apparently giraffes growl

Words:
mama/dada
oh
nana - banana
hey/bye
cheese
ball

hot
brush
hat
shoes
nose, ear, foot, eyes, hand
shhhhhhhhhhh
nononono- while shaking his head

Fun Facts:
-he LOVES to brush his teeth
-he loves giving kisses
-when you ask him where the firetruck is he makes a "whoo" noise for a siren
-fave things to do are read books, read books, and read books. oh and he also likes to play chase
-likes to put a shirt or blanket over his face and run into things - such a weird little kid!!!
-put his toys away
-throw his diapers in the trash (no, I haven't trained him, but you aren't going to hear me complain)
-making forts
-tickle time
-going to the grocery store
-playing with his friends
-he claps for the tv and when he is proud of himself
-he is now down to just one nap a day. and those naps usually last 3 1/2-4 1/2 hours. i know, i'm a lucky woman.
-learing to color and do stickers
-DANCE. DANCE. DANCE. We have been working on hokey pokey and he will turn in circles. SOOO cute.
-he is a ham and loves attention. he really likes doing anything that will get us to laugh.
-he really is good at sharing. whenever we have friends over he brings toys to the other children. I know he's not old enough to understand that what he is doing makes God and mommy very proud. I hope he will always have this attribute.
-he is doing much better in the nursery. Thank the Lord.
-he loves to just sit in our laps and night and snuggle....my absolute favorite part of the day.
-being sung to
-and, we are working on feeding ourselves. he has not really been interested in this until lately. we have started with things like yogurt and applesauce. I'll leave you with a few pictures from dinner last night....

picking up the spoon
inspecting the spoon
going for it!!!
so proud of himself
trying to get that last bit out - this kid loves his yogurt. we don't waste any around here
I think there might be a little bit more mom
